The May 2023 issue of Strat-Mag is undergoing it's final editing. I anticipate it releasing around 5:00 PM on May 1, 2023. This issue is different in several ways. The main article, Theater of the Mind, is a bit of a departure from the other main articles. They were ones that everyone could wrap their head around easily and the connection to Strat was clear. The Theater of the Mind article came about after reading a comment by a gamer in the forums. He was lamenting the fact that the Strat cards were boring with just a "groundball (3b) A" listing. He wanted something more exciting for each play. I fell back on my limited improv acting and Dungeons & Dragons roleplay experience to show that the cards are ripe for imagination. You just need to know how to use it. There are also two articles submitted by readers. A 100 win teams that never got to the World Series mini-league and a Strat-Life article about friends making a trip to Strat-O-Matic Opening Day. One of the coolest things submitted so far is a Strat article from approximately 1971. The reader said he found it in a comic book when he was looking through his collection. The 1976 baseball replay continues with Seaver and Sutton performing well for their new teams.
Homebrew stuff includes the position player pitching cards in basic and advanced and a defensive alignment chart you can use in your solo or head to head games.
Lots of exciting stuff and I hope you enjoy the issue as much as I do!
